My Priorities for Northampton County

🚛 Standing Up Against Warehouse Overdevelopment

Northampton County has seen an explosion of warehouse development that is threatening our environment, overloading our roads, and changing the character of our communities. While warehouses bring jobs, they must be balanced with smart planning that protects our towns and neighborhoods.

✅ No More Tax Breaks for Warehouses – I will fight to end tax incentives for warehouse developers and make sure corporations pay their fair share.
✅ Protect Our Roads & Neighborhoods – Increased truck traffic makes our roads more dangerous. I will work to enforce truck route regulations and invest in infrastructure upgrades to handle existing traffic.
✅ Preserve Open Spaces & Farmland – We need stronger zoning protections to keep our county from turning into an endless sea of warehouses.

🏗 Fixing Our Infrastructure & Keeping Roads Safe

Traffic congestion, road deterioration, and flooding are serious issues that need real solutions. As a County Council member, I will prioritize infrastructure investments that benefit residents—not just developers.

✅ Expand Road Repair & Safety Projects – We must rebuild roads and bridges to make travel safer for everyone.
✅ Upgrade Stormwater & Flood Protection – Recent flooding events have devastated our communities. I will push for better stormwater management and expanded flood prevention funding.
✅ Hold Developers Accountable – Any new construction should pay its fair share for infrastructure upgrades rather than shifting the burden onto taxpayers.

🌐 Expanding High-Speed Internet & Modernizing Northampton County

Many parts of Northampton County still lack reliable, high-speed internet, hurting students, businesses, and working families. I will lead the charge to expand broadband access countywide.

✅ Invest in County-Owned Broadband – No family or small business should be left behind due to poor internet service. I support a public-private partnership to expand fiber-optic internet to underserved areas.
✅ Improve Digital Access for Schools & Businesses – I will advocate for affordable broadband options and free community Wi-Fi zones in key areas.

🏥 Strengthening Mental Health Services & Public Safety

Mental health care in Northampton County is underfunded and understaffed. Too many residents end up in jail instead of getting the help they need. I will work to expand mental health programs and crisis response services.

✅ Expand Crisis Intervention Teams (CITs) – Train law enforcement and first responders to handle mental health emergencies effectively.
✅ Increase Funding for Mental Health Clinics – Advocate for state and federal funding to improve local mental health services.
✅ Support Rehabilitation Instead of Jail – Focus on treatment and diversion programs to reduce incarceration rates for individuals struggling with mental health challenges.

Election integrity is not a partisan issue—it’s about making sure every Northampton County resident has confidence in our voting system. I will work to improve election security and transparency.

✅ Voter Education & Accessibility – Make sure every eligible voter has the resources and access they need to cast their ballot easily and securely.

His passion for helping others led him to pursue a career in public service, where he has consistently worked to improve the lives of those around him. Motivated by a desire to create a better future for his community, David is running for County Council to ensure that all residents have a voice in local government.
